Calvin Klein One 3-in-1 Face Makeup Review

I'm not usually an expensive makeup kind of girl, but I had to get this. The lady at Ulta used this for my face and I fell in love. I think it was definitely worth the money and I'm glad I got it. She also used this beautiful cream and powder blush duo on me, but I decided not to get it. For starters, cream blush just doesn't want to work with me. It makes a big streaky pink blob on my face when I try it. Anyways, review.

One thing I adored was the packaging. I mean, just look at it! It looks like an adorable little pill! The matte black part just feels so luxurious. It's a pretty good-sized amount, 1 fluid ounce for $30. Still a bit spendy, but oh well! I got the color 200 Fair, which is the second lightest color in the range. By the way, it really has a good range of colors.

The pump is a nice applicator, even if it can be a bit problematic sometimes. The pump part is so short it's sometimes hard to get it all onto where I want it to go. Does that make any sense? Its still better than no applicator though, like with the Maybelline Fit Me foundation. I usually apply this by pumping some onto my hand and using a regular flat foundation brush.
Here's a quick swatch of the color. This picture makes it look much more yellow than it is in real life. It's definitely warmer than this picture. Oh and, sorry that my skin looks so bad. A wonderful thing about this was the smell of the foundation. It's kind of hard to pinpoint it, but it smells lovely and unique. Almost like... this'll sound strange but it's like a mix between generic good cosmetic smell and a clean pool on a hot summer day smell. Doesn't make much sense, but that's the first thing that popped into my head smelling this. Also, it does have some sparkles in it, see?
Hard to see, but those are sparkles. So, overall a nice foundation. As far as coverage I'd say it's between a light and a medium coverage. It does a good job covering the redness in my cheeks but it does need some help with my dark circles. It's pretty easy to work with and a little goes a long way. The sparkles don't show up on the face which is nice, it gives your face a nice matte look without looking cakey. It also doesn't rub off very easily. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants a nice foundation and doesn't mind the price!
So what do you think of this foundation? Do you think it's worth the big price tag? Feel free to comment below and/or message me. Thank you for reading my blog!

August 2013 Ipsy Bag Review

I got my first ipsy bag! In case you don't know, ipsy is a monthly beauty subscription box. You pay $10 a month and they send you a personalized bag full of 4-6 makeup and beauty samples. I think it's a really great way to try new brands that you might not otherwise try. If you want to sign up, you can sign up via my referral link here which will give me points. If you don't want to sign up through there you can go here. On to the review!

One thing I loved was the envelope it came in! While I do prefer sub boxes in, well, boxes, it's just a lovely touch that you don't get with other sub box companies. Even my dog liked it!
Here's just a quick first look at the bag.

And here's a first look in the bag!

So here's my first item, the noya lip balm in vanilla. To be honest, I was disappointed at first when I saw it. You see, I would've either gotten this or the new Urban Decay Revolution lipstick, and I would've loved the lipstick. I was still very happy with this though. It smelled lovely, not like fake plasticky vanilla smell or french vanilla, more like freshly baked vanilla cupcakes. It was moisturizing and felt very slick on the lips, almost like a gloss. I'm very happy with it overall.

My next item was the Pixi Lash Booster Mascara sample in Blackest Black. Pixi is a nice company, and if you want to get their cosmetics I believe they sell them at Target. This mascara worked pretty well for me, but it isn't exactly my top mascara of all time. One thing I loved was that it didn't clump at all, and it did add some darkness and thickness. It didn't add the volume and drama that i love from a mascara though. Still a nice little sample.

My next sample was the Chella Dazzling Dark Brown Eyebrow Color pencil. The full size of this is actually pretty expensive, it $18. This is actually a pretty nice-sized sample. I've actually never used an eyebrow product before. Yes, I know, crazy right? I don't know, I kinda felt like my eyebrows were a lost cause anyway so why even bother? I am going in for an eyebrow waxing soon though, and after that I'd love to try this out.

One of my favorite things in the bag was the Mica Beauty Shimmer Powder eyeshadow in Bronze. This is a pretty high end eyeshadow, and I think this might be full-sized. The color is a nice color that's very shimmery, almost metallic in the right light. The one thing I dislike is the container. If it's going to be in a pot, just let it be a pot! I don't want to have to shake it trying to get a few specks out! At least that's my opinion. I suppose it would be pretty messy without it. Anyway here's a bad swatch picture!
At least it shows the shimmer. Oh and yes, I do have a ton of freckles.

My last item was the Michael Todd True Organics Jojoba Charcoal Facial Scrub. I love that it's an organic company. I'm not usually that into skincare, but this one looks very promising. I can't wait to try it out!
And here's my last last item, the bag! I think it's so cool that they also add a makeup bag, and I love the pattern on this. The theme of the bag is like an ipsy glamour academy, and I do wish they'd played off of that more.
Overall I loved my ipsy bag. I think it was well worth $10. About the pictures, the lighting does change in the middle of it. You see, I was taking pictures outside because the lighting in my house is horrible. Then, about 4 pictures in, it starts raining buckets! So I had to go inside and take the rest of them in my house. Pretty bad luck actually, seeing as I live in what is technically a desert. Also, I probably did take too many pictures, but I'm still learning I guess. I have 2 more sub boxes on the way, and though neither are beauty boxes, I think I still might post them.

So what do you think of ipsy? Also, do you think i should post reviews of the other 2 boxes? Feel free to comment and/or message me. Thank you for reading my blog!
